One of the great challenges as a leader is dealing with distraction. Leading any organization, especially faith based organizations and other non-profits comes with distractions. Worries, complaints, drama and conflict are common. In a need to address those concerns in a healthy and productive way, it is very easy to get distracted from the mission and the goal. Also, as a leader it is very easy to focus on the negative, what is not working or going right than it is on all thing things that are right. While these are natural and understandable challenges, they can harm our organization and those we lead as we focus too much on them. Its important to name, deal with and move on from distractions, especially when you have done all that you can to address the issues and well before you sense they are hindering the work that you do.
